چکیده

Background Aerosolization of respiratory droplets is considered the main route coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Therefore, reducing viral load Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) shed via potentially an ideal strategy to prevent spread pandemic. The in vitro virucidal activity intranasal Povidone-Iodine (PVP-I) has been demonstrated recently reduce SARS-CoV-2 titres. This study evaluated aqueous solution Iodine-V (a clathrate complex formed by elemental iodine and fulvic acid) as Essential Iodine Drops (EID) with 200 μg iodine/ml content against ascertain whether it a better alternative PVP-I. Methods (USAWA1/2020 strain) virus stock was prepared infecting Vero 76 cells (ATCC CRL-1587) until cytopathic effect (CPE). EID tested three dilutions (1:1; 2:1 3:1) triplicates incubating at room temperature (22 ± 2°C) for either 60 or 90 seconds. surviving viruses from each sample were quantified standard end-point dilution assay. Results (200 iodine/ml) after exposure seconds compared controls. In both cases, titre reduced 99% (LRV 2.0). 1:1 31,623 cell culture infectious dose 50% (CCID 50 ) 316 CCID within Conclusion Substantial reductions LRV confirmed vitro, demonstrating that effective inactivating therefore suggesting its potential application intranasally transmission known suspected COVID-19 patients.

Genome-wide computational prediction of miRNAs in severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) revealed target genes involved in pulmonary vasculature and antiviral innate immunity

The current outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)in China threatened humankind worldwide. The coronaviruses contains the largest RNA genome among all other known RNA viruses, therefore the disease etiology can be understood by analyzing the genome sequence of SARS-CoV-2. In this study, we used an ab-intio based computational tool VMir to scan the complete geno...

Coronavirus in severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

In November 2002, an outbreak of a life-threatening ‘atypical pneumonia’ for which no etiological agent could be identified occurred in Guangdong Province, China. In March 2003, a similar outbreak was reported in Hong Kong [1]. Cases of similar respiratory illness were subsequently reported globally including China, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Canada and USA. This syndrome is a new clinical ent...

Inactivation of the coronavirus that induces severe acute respiratory syndrome, SARS-CoV.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is a life-threatening disease caused by a novel coronavirus termed SARS-CoV. Due to the severity of this disease, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that manipulation of active viral cultures of SARS-CoV be performed in containment laboratories at biosafety level 3 (BSL3). The virus was inactivated by ultraviolet light (UV) at 254 nm, heat tr...

Characterization of severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV) spike glycoprotein-mediated viral entry.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV) is a rapidly emerging pathogen with potentially serious consequences for public health. Here we describe conditions that result not only in the efficient expression of the SARS-CoV spike (S) protein on the surface of cells, but in its incorporation into lentiviral particles that can be used to transduce cells in an S glycoprote...
